Trunk lid insulation installation

I bought an insulation package for the trunk lid of my 1956 chevy. This package requires that the pieces be glued in with 3M weather stripping adhesive. My problem is I can't for the life of me figure out how or where two of the pieces go. Four of the pieces are a no brainer as to where they go but the two small odd shaped ones have me baffled. There seems to be only one place they can go and that is in the large space where the lock etc. is located. It would mean that both small pieces would go in the same hole. I have flipped ,turned, twisted and bent them every which way and I can't find any position that looks correct. The two together are still to small to cover much of the hole and I can't find any position where they aren't overlapping or with gaps showing. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
