It is a pretty rare car, They did not make very many real big block Biscayne's. Completely restored it does have great resale value. Just make sure that it is a factory BB car and the numbers all match. Clones are not worth nearly as much as a real one. Some real BB Biscaynes and Bel Airs from 1965 and 1966 can bring as much as 40k, So make SURE it's a REAL car. Good Luck

Bryan Do you want the casting no ? Or the number off of the pad on the front of the block T here are two motors with the car .Can you tell which is the one that goes with this car.

Bryan

One of them should reference the VIN, The other will tell which Horsepower and Plant the motor was built. Give both if you can read them.

Kyle both motors could be correct for the car but you will have to find the VIN stamping on both motors to find out if either is correct. The first motor is a 427/425hp. spec. hp motor Tonawanda plant,March 1st 1966. The second motor is a 396/325 2 bolt Tonawanda plant Feb 23rd 3 or 4 spd with a Roch 4bbl carb. Do some searching and find the motor with a matching VIN. I would believe that the 396 is the correct motor for the car and someone bought the 427 to try to make a really rare car out of it. Let me know what you find on the VIN. Where are you writing from?,How long have you had the car?,Are you keeping or selling? Bryan

Bryan where is the vin on the motor .Does the vin say if it is a big or small block ? I will more than likley keep this car. Ilive in Indiana. This an old drag car .It only has 18000 miles on it.

Bryan

It more than likely is on the bottom of the block by the bell housing. It will not say any thing about big or small blk it will have the same consecutive numbers as your car's VIN as well as a T in it for Tonawanda plant. If you decide you want to sell let me know.

look for a pad where the trans mounts to the motor on the backside by the bellhousing. It should be there somewhere. I would bet the 396 VIN will match. If so do you want to sell the other motor?

Still, do yourself a favor and check those motors for the VIN stamp. That will tell you which one originally came in the car from GM.
