Timmy

I need the assistance of everyone out there in chevyland. My Impala has factory disc brakes and I cannot find replacement parts for them. The calipers are siezed up and the pads are very squeaky, But, everywhere I turn some smart*** tells me my car did not come from the factory with Disc rear and drum fronts!!! I checked my build sheet 2 times and it states drum frt and DISC rear!! Please somone help me out! The squeeks are driving me bananas!!

I think your nuts! you may want to re check your stats on your build sheet! disc brakes didn't exist on chevrolet cars in 62! especially rear? what are you smokin?

I really thought once I bought a Chevy that I would get some kind of general respect from chevy lovers around the world. But, all I get is a bunch of smart*** comments from people with nothing better to do but chastise me! I am just trying to get some educated answers to my questions. Is it not possible that I may have a rare car!? Thanks for nothing! Don't worry about my shoes!!!!

Even the factory racer Z-11 Impala of 1963 had drum on all 4 wheels. 1962 vintage factory wheels will not fit the caliper on the disc brakes. Stick with the Nash and all it's high tech engineering, leave the Chevy's to us cavemen.

Just oil that squeek, nit wit.

Hey Mike,Z-11 was a camaro,Caveman! Not an Impala!!! And, for your knowledge the nash was a leader in it's class for innovative design and technology! Let alone the styling hues of grace and beauty!!! And, btutus, you can't use oil on brakes!!! I found that out the hard way!! Thanks for the thought though! your brake pads don't like to grip after a little 3–1 oil on them!!! do not try this at home kids!!!

Hey Timmy., I think you may want to check your facts before hitting the keyboard!! The camaro was a ZL1 not a Z-11!! And there is no way your car haas factory disc rear come on man!!! You can't be for real!?

Z11 camaro was a pace car option for 67 or 69, maybe both. Chevy re-used a lot of the option codes as they expired from year to year. In 63 the Z11 code was the factory racer with 427 version of the W engine with aluminum body panels.

Even my Corvettes didn't get disc brakes till 1965. That 62 must be from an alternate universe.
