Does anyone know where i can find a cover that fites on top of the battery that makes a new style battery look like the old tar top battery

Why bother, they never fit and they look like you forgot to finish the resto. I supose you want some braided hose covers also?

Gomer The finished battery depends . On the qualiyt of the part and
the skill level of the person doing the installation.

The fact that you have see a lot says that they don't look real. It's like lipstick on a pig. Why not just buy the correct battery. Even Summit sells resto batteries.

Try New Castle Battery in New Castle, Pennsylvania

Yea, go ahead buy one of those good resto batteries. I had one shipped to me and it leaked acid, they sent another and it also leaked acid. I vote for the top that looks like an old one at least you wont have acid to wash off.

Come on Dave, you started it with the Hillbilly battery top question. What's next? Glue on white walls. This site is for serious Chevy restorers.

dave's pal
gomer exactly what do you mean serious? if dave was not serious how would he know about this forum?and, why would he bother to research something and ask a question if he were not serious? Gomer, perhaps you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth and can afford to buy dave the proper battery, since you care so much?if not, then shut up.

Give it up pal. If you can't afford to restore your Vega correctly, just get a regular battery. I see all those covers at the shows and the fact that you can see it's a cover makes it a band-aid. Real restoration is just that, restore to original. You can't handle the truth!
