i would like to relocate my power steering pump on my 1959 belair,it is currently mounted on my generator. what brackets will work with a newer style pump and will they just bolt right on to the 283? i am trying to make room for an updated master cylinder/booster combo and will eventually go to alternator as well.thanks. |

Sal,
Give us a call at 1 800 CARS INC OR 1 248 853-8900 or surf our website at www.carsinc.com for a newer style 605 power steering conversion kit, which doesn't use the generator, for your 1959 Bel Air. It is part # 14905 and part # 12598 |

You will need a pre 1965 pump to operate the slave cyl. steering on your Chevy if you just relocate the pump to the front of the block. Newer pump and a 605 box will work with an arm change. |

Switching to the 605 conversion eliminates the slave cylinder
and the two short hoses. You will have to relocate your generator
to the passenger side ( this would be a good time to get rid of the
old generator and switch to an alternator) You will also need to use
the center link and steering arm from a non-power steering car. |
